Spotlight on the use of Sunrise in context of occupational health with Attentia

At TotalEnergies Petrochemicals Feluy, Belgium, a Sunrise sleep analysis was carried out by Attentia's occupational physician Christian Mostosi.

The study, co-authored by Attentia physician Edelhart Kempeneers and Dr. Francis Nde, will soon be published in scientific journals. Forty volunteers with symptoms or signs of sleep disorders or comorbid factors (high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, obesity) participated in the study.

None of the participants was aware of or diagnosed with sleep apnea syndrome. However, the initial screening for sleep apnea showed that 76% of them had some degree of sleep apnea. According to Dr. Christian Mostosi, the results show that screening for sleep apnea in the workplace and by occupational medicine is highly desirable.

"I would advocate for OSA screening to be pursued by more companies, especially concerning employees in security or vigilance roles that are active (truck and forklift drivers, operators of technical installations and in high-risk occupations such as night workers and employees with a vigilance function). It would also be a good thing to integrate a Surnise sleep test in periodic medical examinations, allowing for early detection" said Dr. Christian Mostosi.

Here is a French article about the study.
